Say goodbye to projected transparencies of the classroom layout and seating arrangements! With these virtual classroom sites, teachers can design their classrooms before they are even in the room. Just click and drag the furniture item to the location in the room that you want it or have it in and slowly build a blueprint of your classroom. You can also rotate and enlarge the furniture item for the most realistic look. Furniture comes labeled and items range from the usual table and chairs to some unusual plush couches and beanbags. Change colors, add text, make any other shape in your classroom and then print or save your blueprint. The best part, type in students names and have them appear on their chairs. This will make for a clear seating chart that can be mortified quickly and easily understood by students when projected onto a projector screen or interactive whiteboard.

One of the most essential components of classroom management is interacting with and engaging students. We already know that interactive whiteboards and iPads are motivating enough to students but how about the two together? How can an iPad and interactive whiteboard improve classroom management when used simultaneously? With Splashtop Whiteboard, an app for the iPad, teachers can circulate around the room, monitoring students work and participation while controlling their Interactive Whiteboard. Essentially, your iPad becomes the remote to your interactive whiteboard,so anything you write, type, draw, squiggle, etc. on the iPad is reflected on the interactive whiteboard for all students to see. Teachers can now teach from any point in the room assisting students who need extra help or so much as an adult standing near their desk to remain focused. Splashtop is one of the more expensive apps for the classroom at $19.99, but nonetheless, is extremely beneficial for teaching from every corner of the classroom space.
